Thanksgiving and Giving Thanks
28. November 2009 by admin.
From one who is thankful everyday.
Sometimes the news, whether read in a newspaper, or on tv, all the despair, death, dying and disease that we see and hear is depressing. Don’t watch it or listen to it! Create you own happy news.
It can all start by looking at yourself and realize how lucky and well off you are right now. Be thankful for every breath you take. Here is something I wanted to share with you that I have come across several time in the past years. I don’t know who wrote it, so if you know, let me know and I’ll give them credit for it.
· If you woke up this morning with more health than illness
You are more blessed than the million who won’t survive this week
· If you have never experienced the danger of battle, the loneliness of imprisonment, the agony of torture, the pangs of starvation,
You are ahead of 20 million people around the world.
· If you attend a church meeting without fear of harassment, arrest, torture, or death
You are more blessed than almost three billion people in the world.
· If you have food in your refrigerator, clothes on your back, a roof over your head and a place to sleep
You are richer than 75% of this world’s peoples.
· If you have money in the bank, in your wallet, and spare change on a dish some place,
You are among the top 8% of the world’s wealthy.
· If you parents are still married and alive
You are very rare… especially in the United States.
· If you hold your head up with a smile on your face and are truly thankful,
You are blessed because the majority can but most do not.
· If you can hold someone’s hand, hug them or even touch them on the shoulder
You are blessed because you can offer God’s healing touch.
· If you can read this message you are more blessed than over two billion
in the world that cannot read anything at all.
· You are so blessed in so many ways you may never even know…
May God continue to bless you now, forever and always.
To your health and happiness,
Thomas

Top 10 Crazy Easy Weight Loss Tips and Tricks
3. November 2009 by admin.
I’m back, and full of it. After the successful launch of “The BetesBuster Plan” and starting another business, I thought it is time to get back to posting. Sorry for the time off, but I’ll try to make it up.
Want to lose weight quick? Sick of getting all the wrong information from all the wrong sources? Well, if you are, keep reading because we’re going over the top 10 Crazy Easy weight loss tips and tricks to help you get the most out of your dieting and weight loss efforts. A lot of people gradually let down and start to feel like they’ll never lose weight simply because they’ve been given the wrong kind of information, or are just on a plan that is never going to work. These useful tips will help solve problems like that, and provide you with a realistic base from which to work from, so let’s get started:
1. Eating more meals per day is good for you. Each of those meals should be smaller than a “normal” meal. By consuming 5 or 6 “smaller” correctly balanced meals a day, instead of those 3 “big” ones, you’re more likely to feel full. Then you have a better chance of not overeating. By eating smaller amounts of the right stuff, you’re going to give your body an easier time of digesting the food, saving your body’s energy.
2. Always try to plan your meals ahead as much as possible. That way you won’t risk being caught out and having no choice but to eat some junk food or unhealthy meals that just pack on the calories. Pack some healthy snacks to get you through hungry times so you don’t pig out. 3. Drink pure water. Drink water as often as possible, it will help you to stay hydrated. Drink a large glass of water 30 minutes before a meal. It will help ensure that you don’t feel ravenously hungry and end up overeating.
4. Exercise everyday as much and as often as you can. Try to get your heart rate up and keep it up for at least 30 minutes a day. Even something as simple as climbing the stairs instead of taking the elevator is better than nothing. Set aside 40 minutes a day, 5 minutes of stretching, 30 minutes of exercising, and 5 minutes of cool-down stretches. It’s addictive. 5. Set your goals, make an action plan, and start. Then stick to it. Make sure they’re realistic goals, but challenge yourself. Always keep your eye on the desired end results. If you screw up one day, get over it, and keep on keeping on.
6. Experiment with different types of “healthy” food, you don’t want to get bored of eating the same thing over and over. I found out there are a lot of options out there, many so delicious and healthy, that you will be wondering why you didn’t discover these sooner. Be sure to take advantage of fresh produce when you can. 7. Combine aerobic exercise with weight training. You’ll be better able to start toning up your body muscles, look great, and have a faster metabolism. Experiment with different techniques and methods to find what is right for you and your physical condition.
8. Don’t ever, ever, go on crash diets that will just probably end up backfiring on you and wasting your time, money, and worse yet, knocking your self confidence down a notch. Be sensible and wise. 9. Eat as many fruits and vegetables as you want, but try to cut down on consuming too much fat. When eating meat, eat lean cuts of meat, cold-water fish, and with poultry, be sure to remove the skin if possible.
10. Avoid late night snacks. If you “have to” eat before bedtime, try eating a small protein snack. If you eat a meal just before bedtime, your body won’t get the chance to work off all the energy it gets, and is more likely to end up storing it as FAT. Plus, you won’t get as good of rest as needed. All that sounds easy enough doesn’t it? Everything said and done, weight loss really can be as simple as following these 10 tips, and they’re undoubtedly going to serve you well when you decide to put them to use.
Nothing could be easier! Right. Sometimes you need a plan to follow. Something structured. There are several good plans that are healthy, and others have succeeded using them. But how do you know what works, what’s healthy, and what may be a waste of time and money? Read the honest reviews. You can read the reviews at www.skinnyufast.com The best plan, and I am biased, is “The BetesBuster Plan”. When I went on this plan to reverse my type 2 diabetic condition, I lost 31 pounds. I previously reported it as 39lbs. but when going over my records I discovered my error.I lost 31 pounds in 45 days! It was combined with physical exercise.
Read the reviews, but then look at “The BetesBuster Plan” even if you don’t have diabetes. It is hands down the healthiest diet I know of. www.betesbuster.com
Stay healthy,
Thomas

The Glycemic Index-Are You Using It?
6. October 2009 by admin.
There are lots of benefits to using the Glycemic Index to create healthy meals. By eating a diet focusing mainly of lower Glycemic Index carbs, you can keep your blood sugar levels lower, more consistantly, and balance out your energy levels as well.
Eating a lot of “high” glycemic index foods pushes your body to it’s higher extreme limits. Blood sugar levels are peaking and can trigger insulin spikes. This can be especially true if you are a couch potato, overweight, or just not physically able to move very well.
- Here is a list of just some of the benefits of eating a low Glycemic Index diet:
Can help you lose weight and control your eating binges.
Can help you improve and control your blood glucose levels.
Will help your body increase it’s sensitivity to insulin.
Can help you reduce blood cholesterol levels, especially the bad ones.
May help you reduce the risk of heart attacks/heart disease
Can help increase physical endurance.
May help with digestion and improve eyesight.
May help reduce inflammation in the body.
A great way to change your approach to eating is to switch a “high” Glycemic Index carbohydrate out for a “low” Glycemic Index carb. It’s not hard to do. You still have plenty to eat. It’s just healthier.
If you have to eat breads, eat breads made with whole grains, or eat pumpernickle or sourdough breads, but keep them to a minimum.
Instead of white rice, use Doongara, Basmati, or wild long grain rice. Maybe even Uncle Ben’s Converted Rice.
If eating pasta, do not cook it for more than 5 minutes and use whole grain pasta or noodles.
Keep potatoes to a minimum. They can raise your blood sugar higher and faster than most foods.
Eat lots of vegetables and most fruits. Watermelon is listed as a high glycemic rated fruit, but I think some of the benefits that watermelon brings outweighs the concern. Just don’t over do it.
In “The BetesBuster Plan” there is a really cool food chart based on low glycemic foods. By picking a food from each column and filling your plate with the proper portions, you end up with a correctly balanced, nutritious meal. No guess work.
You can lose weight, keep energy levels up, and blood glucose levels down. A great plan for people with diabetes, or for anyone wishing to eat healthy balanced meals.
A great website to study the Glycemic Index is www.mendosa.com. It is an in-depth amount of research and information.
“The BetesBuster Plan” can be found at www.betesbuster.com
To your health,
Thomas

A Little (Tiny) Bit About Me and My New Book
12. September 2009 by admin.
Well I thought I better tell you all a little about my story. Everyone has a story. That is why you should always listen to people, because I find most people have an amazing story to tell.
I live in South Haven, Michigan. God's country, my step-dad used to say. Right near Lake Michigan, the dunes, blueberry fields, orchards, and the famous sugar sand beaches. One of the few places where you can drive right to the shore of Lake Michigan, walk on the pier to the lighthouse, or jump in the fresh blue water.
When I first was told I had diabetes (type 2) I was kind of stunned. Not that I wasn't warned years before that I was "pre-diabetic". Well, when I got to thinking about it, I realized I had very little knowledge of what diabetes really was. Oh sure, I thought I knew, but after all my research, I bet very few people diagnosed with type 2 diabetes really understand all the conditions, and how it affects every part of your body.
So I wrote an ebook about what I did to NOT have type 2 diabetes. I developed a concept or plan that worked so well for me, I knew it had to be shared with whomever would read it. I just wanted to bust open the myth that you can't reverse diabetes. It can and has been done. It just takes a few adjustments.
For more info or to order ” The BetesBuster Plan” click here
The BetesBuster Plan is based on correctly balanced nutritious meals. The Glycemic Index was used to pick carbohydrate foods that do not raise your blood glucose as high as some carbs. This combined with the proper amount of proteins and fats is the key to keeping blood sugar levels on an even keel.
Exercise is another important part of the plan. Yes, exercise. I know eveyone is different, have a different body composition, and different levels of physical conditions and limitations. But the plan is flexible in this area especially. You just figure out what you CAN physically do, and then improve on it daily or weekly. The more consistent you are at progressing, the better, and faster the plan will work.
Supplements are optional. The book gives you information on what supplements can be beneficial, and can actually speed the reversal of your diabetic condition. Some natural plant supplements can actually lower blood sugar better than prescription medicine! Worth looking into.
Your “inner game” or attitude is vital for success in anything you do in life. When fighting the “beast” called diabetes it is as important as ever. When you learn about how every mouthful of food and drink you ingest has an effect on blood sugar, and how insulin works, right down to the cellular level, a lifestyle change will start to take place. It may be hard to grasp at first, so that’s where your attitude and “stick-to-it-ness” comes into play.
My goal is to help 1000 people living with diabetes reverse their condition by the end of the year. With your help telling others, it can and will be achieved.
Now, to be honest and vain, a book about me would be so much more fun and exciting, because I’ve led a charmed life so far. But this book is so much more important to help others achieve a vibrant, healthy life. So check it out, take some action steps, and defeat the “BEAST” called diabetes. You CAN do it!

My First Huge Testimonial! It Works! (I knew it.)
2. September 2009 by admin.
I am celebrating the release of my very first book called “The BetesBuster Plan”
I am shamelessly plugging my book because I physically witnessed a true testimonial “live and in person”. His name is Dwight and he was a diabetic. He is 46 years old and was in fairly poor physical condition and kind of down on himself. I let him have a copy of my un-finished rough draft of The BetesBuster Plan, not thinking he would do much with it.
He called me up out of the blue and invited me over to see him. I walked past him 3 times at our meeting place before he grabbed me by the arm and said “Tom, you don’t even recognize me, do ya? Wow! Was I shocked, and it showed.
Dwight was now 40lbs lighter and was in great physical, muscular shape, with his head held high! I couldn’t believe this was the same guy! He had taken what I gave him (the rough draft of The BetesBuster Plan) and followed it completely.
He had just had a doctors visit the day before and was told that if his blood tests were still normal, he could be taken of the rest of his diabetes medication. He already had it reduced the last time he was checked. So I saw the physical proof that The BetesBuster Plan worked for another person. One that I could verify, not just someone who said it worked. (I believe them too!)
Try it out. You have nothing to lose. Everyone is different. We are all made up differently, in different situations, conditions, and even our access to nutritious foods is different. So if you try it out, give it a shot and it just isn’t for you, ask for a refund. I’ll give you every penny back. Promise.
CLICK HERE for more information on “The BetesBuster Plan” a book that will guide you step-by-step from where you are now, to reversing your type 2 diabetic condition. By the way, you will feel fabulous!

My First Face To Face Testimonial, Live In Person
31. July 2009 by admin.
Today I received a phone call from a guy named Dwight. I had not heard from him in a while. I first met Dwight and his girlfriend when I was interviewing people with type 2 diabetes for research for my book called “The BetesBuster Plan”. I had brought Dwight some articles that I had written about diabetes and he gladly took them to read.
The second time I met with Dwight, it was at his request. His girlfriend made a mistake and went to jail to serve some time and Dwight was distraught. I think he just needed to talk to someone and he knew I was a good listener. When we got to talking he was saying that the diabetes information I gave him made sense and wanted to know more. So I gave him a copy of my rough draft of “The BetesBuster Plan”.
After explaining to him about the effects of high blood sugar, stress and poor nutrition, he shook his head in understanding and said he would follow the plan to see if it would help him feel better, lose weight, and be able to cope without his girlfriend.
Well I met with Dwight today. At first I didn’t recognize him. I walked right past him looked around and thought maybe I misunderstood where he was going to meet me. Dwight said “Hey Tom, you don’t even recognize me do ya?” I could not believe my eyes! He had slimmed down, put on some well defined muscle, and was grinning from ear to ear!
He had taken my BetesBuster concept and put it to the test. Dwight lost 31 pounds, has found a new hobby (working out) and his blood sugar counts were down to the normal range. His doctor couldn’t believe it. He wants Dwight to keep monitoring his blood sugar and if it stays normal the next two weeks, they will reduce the dosage gradually over the next two weeks to get him off it completely. Sweet!
So, I have seen someone other than me, with my own eyes, succeed in beating the “beast” called diabetes using “The BetesBuster Plan. (Head is swelling with joy) I knew this would work and help others. It is quite simple but yet, change always takes effort. It’s not a magic pill. It works!
I have my website finished. I have the book finished. I have 4 wonderful bonus gifts to go with the book, finished. I am just putting together the final details on the delivery method, and the bi-monthly newsletter that goes along with “The BetesBuster Plan”. So if you would like to get a discount plus a free PDF during my early test marketing, sign up at www.diabeteswhacker.com
To your happiness and health,
Thomas Fouts
PS. Thanks Dwight. You have filled me with confidence and awe. This will be powerful.

Will it ever be released? Oh, come on!
23. July 2009 by admin.
I am just so excited to get my book out to the public that I just can’t stand the wait! After a year of trial and tribulation, researching, interviewing and writing, it is time to get this info into people’s hands to prevent, control or reverse their type 2 diabetes.
Initial feedback has been very positive! You just never know how good it is or how helpful it can be until others comment on your work. Because I was so “close” to it, and nobody had even seen the full copy, I just had no idea if anyone would read it.
The two people that took the core concept of the book early on reported that one was able to get off all diabetic medications and the other reduced his dosage by half. (he claims he didn’t stick with it very well, but it still worked).
So, as soon as my website gets finished, (it was supposed to be done 2-1/2 months ago) my book, called “The BeteBuster Plan” will be released. I am setting a positive goal of July 29th, 2009 as the launch date.
The BetesBuster Plan is a step-by-step guide that teaches you
- How every bite you eat affects your blood sugar
- What foods to eat to minimize insulin spiking.
- How to properly combine proteins, carbohydrates and fats for a nutritious meal.
- This isn’t a restrictive diet. You choose what healthy foods you want and the BetesBuster Plan shows you how to combine them.
- Weight-loss seems to be a great benefit with this program, and you are not hungry all the time.
- Explains how to choose your own exercise level and how to improve it.
- Everyone is different. The BetesBuster Plan lets you tailor it to work for YOU.
- The big debate on supplements. Do we need them? Do they work? Again, you will be given knowledge about many supplements, enough so YOU can decide if supplements are for you.
- Your “inner game” or attitude is so important when choosing to fight the “beast” called diabetes. The BetesBuster Plan gives you great advice and tools to help you set up YOUR plan.
I can’t wait to share what experiences I went through learning about diabetes. I just want to tell the world “come on, don’t give in to the diabetes conditions, you CAN change them.” If you don’t choose to fight and defeat the “beast” called diabetes, you will get beat up, or worse.
Sign up for my newsletter and receive a Free Pdf called “59 Tips on Eats, Meats, Sweets and Feets”. Plus you will get a 50% off offer on “The BetesBuster Plan” for a limited time. Click HERE

Wow, I’m back!
1. July 2009 by admin.
Thomas here.
Wow, I have to apologize for my lack of communication lately. I’ll try not to let it happen again. Too much “stuff” going on in my world. Do you feel that the world gets busier with each passing day?
My book that I have been writing and talking about so much, is finally complete. There are some snafus with the formatting that I am working on at the moment. The good news, with all the delays, I came up with extra bonus materials that are going to be so beneficial to the reader.
Here in Michigan where I live, summer is in full bloom. It is a great time for fresh vegetables and luscious fruits to be available. I love to take advantage of local farm markets and buy fresh local grown raw nutrition.
There is quite a movement towards organic fruits and vegetables. If you can find a good source, try to cultivate a relationship with the vendor or farmer. Let them know that you are interested in their products and appreciate the quality. They may put you on a preferred customer list and give you a “heads up” when their produce is about to ripen and hit the market.
The Environmental Working Group (EWG) has a list of the “dirty dozen” based on pesticide residue. So it is in your best interest to choose organic when buying apples, celery, bell peppers, lettuce, nectarines, peaches, pears, potatoes, spinach, strawberries, cherries, and imported grapes.
Another great thing about summer is grilling fresh vegetables and lean meats on the grill. There are so many great recipes to try, so this is your time to experiment. My favorite is a large fish fillet (trout, bass, salmon) diced Vidalia onions, green bell peppers, carrots, and a Cajun seasoning, all wrapped together in tin foil and placed on the grill until done.
Oh yeah, a couple pats of butter placed on the fillet works wonders. Mmmm good!
Grilling caution: Always cook vegetables at lower heat on the grill. When vegetables are exposed to high heat, it can produce ACE’s, an advanced glycation end product. (I don’t fully understand some of this stuff) But ACE’s can cause internal inflammation and cellular stress, which can lead to type 2 diabetes and Alzheimer’s disease.
Another caution, when exposing fat, amino acids (protein), sugars, and muscle fiber in meat, poultry and fish to high heat and flame, it can generate carcinogens. Eating these charred meats often, can increases your risk of colon cancer significantly. So try to cook slowly over low to medium heat and flame.
Remember to combine a protein with your carbohydrates for a balanced meal or snack. There is a bunch more great information and step-by-step ways to put healthy balanced meals together to help control your blood sugar in my new book. It will be available soon. Really. Not kidding.
I have a free excerpt of a sample meal from “The BetesBuster Plan”. It is a meal using the Glycemic Index and balancing it out with the correct amount of proteins. As you can see, you won’t go hungry. There are charts in the book where you just go down the list and pick one food from each column, and “poof”, you have a balanced meal. (An apology gift for the delay in this newsletter).
Thanks again for allowing me to share some of my stuff with you. Always feel free to shoot me an email with any burning hot questions or just to let me know what you may want to know more of. (Type 2 diabetes related)
To your health,
Thomas Fouts
SAMPLE DAILY MEAL (from the BetesBuster Plan)
Breakfast: q One cup steel-cut oats (cooked)q ½ apple cut up small pieces or dicedq ½ teaspoon cinnamonq 2 tablespoons of walnut piecesq 2 tablespoons of dried cranberries or cherriesq ¼ - ½ cup skim milk (soy milk optional)Mix the ingredients together.Mid-Morning Snack:q ½ cup low-fat or no-fat cottage cheeseq 1tablespoon low sugar strawberry jam
Mix the jam in the cottage cheese
Lunch:
q 4oz of Tuna fish (canned)
q 1 tablespoon low fat mayonnaise
q 1 tablespoon salsa
q mustard (you decide how much)
q 1 Small diced dill pickle
q 1 slice toasted sourdough bread Mix first 5 ingredients and spread on toasted bread or put in a small whole grain pita. (weigh-less option: wrap in a lettuce leaf)Mid-Afternoon Snack:
q 1 Peach, Pear, or Plum, washed
q 1 Hard-boiled egg
Dinner:
q 3-4oz of chicken breast with lemon/pepper seasoningq 1 cup (or more) Steamed Broccoli and red peppersq 1 serving sweet potato or yam
Evening Snack:
q 1 small square of good dark chocolate (60%+ cacao)q 8-10 macadamia nuts or pecans Drink 8-10 ounces of water 20-30 minutes before your meal. Try not to drink much, if any with your meal, as this dilutes the stomach acids and slows down the digestive process. Always consume the purest water you can get your hands on.
Now that you have a full belly from eating all that healthy balanced nutrition, we need to exercise. I was just turned on to an interesting ebook by Keith Scott, called Unbreakable. It is a no nonsense and quite different approach designed to help you eliminate pain, physical shortcomings, and limiting conditions, freeing you up to persue new and exciting physical adventures you never thought possible again. For more info on this inspiring book, click here.
